What is kenzan used for?

Do you love bringing treasures home from the garden or nature and arranging them into larger decorations? Then you definitely need a kenzan! This centuries-old arrangement tool originally comes from Japan and was used by our grandmothers to arrange them. It is also an ideal choice for beginners , because wherever you place the stem in the kenzan, it will stay there.

Kenzan will completely replace green and gray disposable floristry material and will serve you for generations . It will become your sustainable partner for breathtaking plant arrangements all year round.

What are the benefits of kenzan?

  • Easy to arrange. The stem stays exactly where you stick it, making the kenzan easy to work with even for beginners.

  • A sustainable alternative. It replaces disposable floristry material (green or gray) and can be used repeatedly for many years.

  • Universal use. Suitable for small and medium flower arrangements, candlesticks and decorations made of flowers, trees and soft stems.

  • Stability when arranging. Thanks to the dense stainless steel spikes, the flowers are held firmly in place.

  • A traditional and proven tool. It comes from Japan and has been used for centuries.

  • Wide range of uses throughout the year. You can use it to create seasonal decorations from flowers, branches and natural materials.

What will you receive after ordering a medium kenzan?

  • This medium kenzan has a diameter of 54 mm and stainless steel tips. The tips are taller, narrower and closer together than on commonly sold arrangement hedgehogs, making it more suitable for working with flowers. With the right procedure, it can also be used with woody plants.

  • Along with the kenzan, you will also receive very detailed instructions for its use and maintenance. So don't worry if you have never worked with it before. The possibilities of its use are really wide, all year round.

What is this medium kenzan suitable for?

  • Small and medium floral arrangements

  • Arranging simple candlesticks

  • Generally suitable for thicker stems, but some stems with a diameter of 1 - 2 mm can be held impaled directly on the tip or between the tips

  • Soft stems

  • Woody stems

Tips for arranging with a medium kenzan

  • Always split hard woody stems by cutting or knocking them open with a hammer.

  • For arrangements with thin stems, use florist tape to wrap the ends of the stems.

  • To anchor the kenzan so that it does not slip, we recommend Oasis fixation tape.

  • To secure the spike between the spikes, wrap its tip with adhesive tape
